B: Alpine, Texas is one of those towns that you walk in about fifteen minutes. It didn't take Katherine and I long to discover what the small Texas town had to offer. We stopped on our way to Marfa (check out our blog post here) and made it our mission to see the colorful buildings, painted murals, and West Texas flair that Alpine had to offer. K: The wind was absolutely crazy the day that we stopped in Alpine. I'm thankful that I brought my hat to keep my hair (mostly) in place. While we ... View the Post
West Texas Weekend: The Gage Hotel
B: I first visited the Gage Hotel in the Spring of 2015 for a work sponsored course. The March timeframe brought about a chilly spell accompanied with continuous misty rain. Nonetheless, I fell in love with late 1800's inspired rustic appeal and architecture of The Gage Hotel complex that encompasses the entire town of Marathon. The most appealing aspect to this luxurious hotel for me was the way that the rain sounded falling on the tin roof all night.B: I was looking for buffalo-style plaid ... View the Post
Date Night: An Evening at the Ballet
B: For Katherines 25th birthday, I purchased season tickets to the San Antonio Ballet. The season started with the strong imagination of Don Quixote, leading into the classic tale of The Nutcracker, and ended in a dreamy romanticism of Sleeping Beauty. We loved the costumes and finesse of the ballerinas within these productions, but loved the opportunity for us to dress up even more.K: This cream lace dress is one of my all-time favorites, particularly because of the bell sleeve detail. I first ... View the Post
Target Turtleneck and OTK Boots
K: We're lucky to have beautiful weather in San Antonio year round, except for the occasional day of cold and rain. When Brandon told me that the groundhog saw his shadow, I wasn't sure if I believed that six more weeks of winter was in store, especially since we'd just had sunny skies and temperatures in the seventies. However, that next weekend, it was cold and misty. I got a typical winter cold and we bundled up in an attempt to stay warm. K: A turtleneck is one of my go-to items when ... View the Post
Scarf Weather
B: During a recent San Antonio cool-front, Katherine and myself decided to leave our cozy home for a walk through one of our favorite neighborhoods. The frigid 50 degree temperatures kept me clinging to my charcoal peacoat - not wanting to even remove my hands from the pockets. Historically, I have searched far and wide for a stylish pea coat, purchasing numerous designers of widely varying price points before stumbling upon the winter clearance aisle at Target while on a mission to ... Ladylike Tweed and Stripes
K: Brandon and I headed down to the Olmos Park area of San Antonio for a bite to eat and to walk through the gorgeous streets while browsing perfectly manicured lawns and stunning homes. I had on this navy tweed coat and found that it was the perfect weight for temperatures in the fifties. Oftentimes in San Antonio, we don't need more than a light jacket. One of the many reasons I love this city... K: Brandon and I don't live close to this particular area, but we explore in an effort ... View the Post
