A Simple Valentine's Day Tablescape I don't know about you, but I felt sad once Christmas was over and downright depressed when we had to take our tree down. Looking ahead, I wanted an opportunity to plan another tablescape and as a couple blog, what better holiday to plan for other than Valentine's Day? We thought it'd be fun to have a double date at home and cook up a fancy meal either the weekend before or after the 14th since the actual holiday falls on a Thursday this year. Pretty ... The Best Things To Buy At The Farmers Market
The Best Things To Buy At The Farmers Market Brandon and I joke that we're really 65 years old mentally. We prefer earlier bedtimes and often opt for early mornings by preference. One of our favorite Saturday morning activities is to head down to the Pearl Brewery Farmers Market in San Antonio. Armed with reusable bags and a cup of hot tea or coffee, we'll spend an hour or so perusing the different stands, seeing what is in season. It's easy to get carried away and think that you suddenly ... View the Post
Why You Need Photos Together As A Couple
Why You Need Photos Together As A Couple It's no secret that we adore the documentation of love. With everything from formal photos to celebrate our anniversary, to the most casual set of photos like peach picking in Fredericksburg, we've got our fair share of pictures around the house. There is a stigma behind taking photos though: most people (especially guys) think of it as a chore and a dreaded task. Most women fret about what to wear and their appearance in the pictures. The Ultimate Book List For 2019
Your Ultimate Book List for 2019 I love sharing book lists with you all and as an English teacher and lover of literature, I read a ton! Last year I posted about my latest favorites here and this year, I've got a brand new set of the top fifteen books I read in 2018. Just like last time, the majority would fall under the "thriller" category; however, I've also included several that are "feel good books" or just well-written pieces that I loved. Hope you enjoy! Update On Our Property
Where We Are // Our Future Plans At the end of summer, we announced that we'd bought a piece of property about an hour and a half from San Antonio. As promised, we want to give periodic updates and fill you guys in on the process. Right now, we're in the stage of grooming and cleaning the land. It's a raw piece of land (about 13 acres), filled with cedar and oak trees and brush. You can see from the picture above, it's thick! Brandon has been several times and worked to cut down some trees ... View the Post
Our New Direction
The Last Month // Our Time Off As I sit here and type, it's been almost one month since our last blog post; easily our longest break yet. We shared our thoughts briefly here, but to be honest, I was so burned out that I didn't even feel up to the task of writing everything out in that post. I think it was a combination of a lot of things that left us feeling tired and burned out, and I'm just glad we were able to quickly recognize the need for a good, long break. When it comes to blogging ... View the Post
