Hello Fresh: An Unsponsored Review
I stayed out of the kitchen during my entire first trimester. Battling all day sickness and a sensitive gag reflex caused me to become very limited on what I ate during that time. By the time I was able to jump back into the kitchen, it felt like it had been such a long time since I’d actually cooked, and I still had trouble thinking of meal ideas and figuring out what sounded good. Enter Hello Fresh.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the meal subscription kit company, just as I had. I easily found a discount code online and got $80 off my first month of meals. For Brandon and I, we selected three meals per week with 2 serving sizes per meal. It has been the perfect solution to getting me back in the kitchen because all of the meals are easy to prepare and don’t take long at all. Additionally, everything is already measured out perfectly and I’ve found that their online meal catalog has sparked lots of inspiration for me (also doesn’t hurt that there are plenty of healthy options for me and baby).

Our Initial Thoughts On Hello Fresh
So far, we’ve been doing the program for three weeks. Our meals come on Thursday, (although you can select any day you want for delivery) and I’ve actually enjoyed that because it feels like the Hello Fresh meals are our “weekend” meals and they’re a little more special than our normal weeknight meals. I joked with Brandon that they are our at home “date night” meals. We aren’t eating out during this time, so it’s fun to have a little something special come our way for the weekend, instead of us opting to get take out.

Price Point + Benefits to Hello Fresh
We’re paying around $50-60 total for our three meals. Keep in mind that you are definitely paying for the convenience and delivery factor in that price point. We have tried to lessen the frequency of our grocery trips during this time, and I love that everything you need for the meals come individually packaged, perfectly proportioned.
You can sign up and receive $40 off using this link and try Hello Fresh for yourself. This is not sponsored in any way! Every Hello Fresh member has a code to share with friends. Brandon and I have really enjoyed the service and will probably continue to do it once Baby Swain arrives. I love how easy it is to skip weeks if you want to take a break, or start right back up if you’re in a rut. With over twenty meals on their weekly menu, it’s impossible not to find appealing options for yourself.
