Mott & Bow Denim
Is there anything better than a well-fitted pair of jeans? How about if you find a pair for you and your guy, all through the same retailer? Brandon and I recently heard about Mott & Bow, a company that boasts elevated basics at a reasonable price. Of course, we love anything that’s budget friendly, but we also really enjoy brands that cater to both him and her. Not only do they have quality denim, but they have a great selection of “basics” like soft, everyday tees, button downs, and comfy cashmere sweaters. So when the company offered to have us review some of their pieces for the blog, we jumped at the chance to test them out and spread the word! Spoiler alert: we’re obsessed.

The Mott & Bow Home Try On Experience
One of my favorite things about the Mott & Bow experience was their free home try-on ability. Jeans are hard. I rarely order denim online, simply because every brand is different and you can never be sure of how you’ll like the fit. Mott & Bow allows you to choose a second size for your order so that you can really find your perfect pair. Simply keep the pair that works, and send the other one back for free after five days or less. The pre-paid UPS label makes it easy and efficient, and it allows you some peace of mind when shopping.

The Jeans
K: I went with the “Mom Jean” style and love that it’s a balance between a boyfriend cut and skinny jeans. They were comfortable, flattering, and ever so slightly cropped at the ankle. The high waist is my favorite feature and they’re definitely a year-round jean that will work with anything. Mott & Bow shared a little with us about the creation of their denim and it is seriously the coolest process!! Every pair of jeans gets a resin application, curing time in an oven, scraping or distressing, pinning, and an extreme wash before the finishing touches are put on.
B: I found the creation process really interesting. Katherine actually showed it to me, and then sure enough, I found a pumice rock in the pocket of my jeans! They use these tiny little stones to create a certain look in the wash color and distress level.
My pair of jeans are the Slim Wooster in the medium blue wash. I actually didn’t have any dark wash jeans, and I love the deep indigo color of these and how they pair well with any color of shirt. Dark jeans with a lighter blue button down is a classic look that can be worn year round on any guy.

Quality of “The Basics”
K: In addition to a pair of jeans, Mott & Bow also let us try out their “basics” with shirts. I opted for one of their gorgeous cashmere sweaters, and Brandon chose a classic button down for work. The cashmere was an amazing quality. It’s got a slightly oversized, slouchy fit, and the softness/comfort level is insane. Just a heads up, the cream is a little bit see through so I just threw on a bodysuit underneath. For the quality of cashmere, the price is extremely reasonable. I’m excited to have a classic cream sweater for the fall and winter months ahead.
B: My work environment is casual, and most people opt for an easy button down that can be worn with any style of pants. My favorite thing about this particular shirt is the cut and the length. I hate wearing extra long shirts and this one is a great length so that it can even be worn untucked.
