Our First Thoughts On Midland
K: Hello friends! It has been FAR too long, but we’re cutting ourselves some slack this summer as we settle into a brand new routine and home here in Midland. Since we moved in late June, we’ve managed to unpack all the boxes, set up our new home, and have begun to make some changes like fresh paint, closet shelving, and a few other things.
So far, Brandon and I are really enjoying Midland. We absolutely love our new neighborhood and find ourselves walking every morning and evening. The dry heat cools down when the sun isn’t up, and it’s actually quite enjoyable to be outside. The streets are quiet and lined with big oak trees that cast a perfect amount of shade. Needless to say, Tara is loving this aspect of our life here as well and enjoys her daily walks.
Peach Athletic Wear
I’ve been living in athletic wear, whether we’re out walking or inside doing home projects. This little outfit from Peach is a new favorite of mine. I feel like it allows me to still look put together with the tennis skort, yet the lightweight fabric keeps things practical for activity. This cobalt blue tank and black sports bra are also Peach and can be easily mixed and matched with leggings too.
A big reason why I love the Peach brand is because of the functionality of their clothing. I’ve shared them before, but I like how they have more than just workout gear. It’s workout gear that can take you from your barre class to the grocery, without looking like a hot mess. Plus, they have adorable dresses and athleisure looks (I’ve featured both here and here). I reach for their pieces all the time, especially when we’re just lounging inside.

Life Right Now
In this season of change, we’re really trying to just get acclimated and settled. I start a new teaching job in early August which means that there’s less than one month before my summer schedule is gone. Brandon and I are allowing ourselves lazy weekends and the freedom to do what we want before fall schedules pick up and life gets a little busier. We’re trying to focus on meeting people, finding a church, exploring our new city, and making our house a home.
We’re also looking to start our big home renovation project which entail finishing out the detached garage and turning it into a man cave. So far, we haven’t enlisted the help of a contractor or torn down any walls but that’s about to change with the garage! Thanks so much for being patient with us as we are inconsistent in our usual blogging schedule. It’s a busy season of life filled with a lot of change!
