Ice Cream Date + Life Update

Ice Cream Date In San Antonio

K: One of our favorite places to go is The Pearl, partially because it means we can bring Tara, and partially because of the amazing shops and restaurants in the outdoor area. It’s already hot here in San Antonio and combined with the sticky humidity, I’m convinced that the best date option is to go get ice cream! If you haven’t been to Lick yet, GO!

The Best Ice Cream Shops In San Antonio:

Lick: As mentioned before, we love this place for its unique flavors and local ingredients!

Amy’s Ice Cream: Another yummy spot located in the Quarry Shopping Center.

Steel City Pops: This is a great option if you want something a little healthier. They have fruit based popsicles and cream based.

Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream: Love this place! They actually freeze the ice cream right in front of you with liquid nitrogen!

Life Update

K: The biggest news is that I got a job! I cannot tell you how relieved I feel at this point, and I’m sure many of you can also relate! When we learned of the move back in April, Brandon and I immediately started praying for my future job. Luckily, timing was on our side. Teaching jobs usually open up in April or May for the following school year. Midland is obviously a lot smaller than San Antonio though, so I knew my options were limited as a high school English teacher.

I’m so happy to report that I’m hired and will be teaching 8th AND 9th grade! Such a change from the 12th graders that I’ve taught but I am welcoming the new challenge and season of life. God was really looking out for me on this one as it seemed that everything fell into place just at the right time. I was so nervous about the prospect of not finding a teaching job. It is a relief and a blessing to be hired on for the 2019-2020 school year!

On Katherine: Banana Republic Factory top (similar here, here, and here); Ann Taylor pants, similar bag

On Brandon: Polka dot shirt, J. Crew shorts
