Spring Date Ideas
For Texas, I feel like we’re at the tail end of the spring season. Temperatures are already in the 80s and summer is well on its way. Today’s post is really geared more towards warm weather date ideas that can work for the spring and summer season. It’s been a while since our last date idea post but if you want a little more, be sure to check out ten last minute date ideas and romantic date ideas under $20 for a few more ideas. Hope this helps you solidify some weekend plans or get excited for your next date!

Find Fresh Flowers
I am a sucker for fresh flowers. Every year, we seem to find some excuse to visit a flower farm. We blogged about our favorite one outside of San Antonio here, but it’s pretty easy to find something similar outside of most cities. Even if you just go out looking for wildflowers, it’s worth it! We love being out and exploring nature, plus, it’s an added bonus that you get to bring home some fresh blooms!

Play Tennis Outside
Okay, we haven’t done this one yet, but I want to play tennis sometime this year! It’s a perfect sport for partners to do together and it’s so easy to go and rent rackets somewhere. This is another budget friendly idea that would work well in most states and cities!
Take A Walk In The Park
We’re outside as much as possible this time of year. Evening walks in the park are pretty routine for us and I love timing it so you can watch the sun set. Most of the dates on this list are active and centered around the outdoors simply because we embrace the weather as long as possible before we start to see temperatures go over 100 degrees!

Find A B&B For The Weekend
A few weeks ago we booked a precious bed & breakfast in Georgetown and had the best time. It was a lovely little escape for the weekend and the town was filled with so much charm. It reminded us that a weekend outside of your home or city is refreshing and invigorating. Even if you just drive an hour, check out quaint hotels for a weekend away.

Visit A State Park
In our early dating days and also right after we got married, Brandon and I went to Big Bend National Park. It is truly a breathtaking experience and I know that we’ll be back again. Surrounding yourself with nature at a state park is always a great weekend activity and spring is the absolute best time to take advantage!
Have A Cookout
My parents just gifted us with their old grill and we couldn’t be happier. Brandon is a grill master (I’ll totally brag on him), and we’re cooking out regularly now. I also love that it allows us to meal prep! He’ll throw on four or five chicken breasts and we use it for meals all throughout the week! Invite friends over and make it a party!

Update Your Yard
We have so much fun visiting Home Depot or a local nursery for plants. One effort that we focus on every spring is our yard. Small updates like new plants and flowers make a huge difference and it’s relatively cheap to do an update. Take a trip together and pick out some new things for your porch or yard.

Visit Magnolia (Or A Tourist Spot In Your City)
Magnolia is a hot spot in Texas right now for tourism. Chip and Joanna have completely revamped Waco, Texas and as two former Baylor Bears, Brandon and I couldn’t be happier for our former college city. We made the trip out last summer but I highly recommend it if you’re in Texas and haven’t been yet! If you aren’t in Texas, investigate a “hot spot” and find an off day to go visit!

Go Fruit Picking
Farm visits and fruit picking have to be at the top of our list for date ideas. Last year we went peach picking in May and it was so much fun. Strawberries are in season now, but I think we’re determined to get some blackberries this season too! Do a quick google search to see what is in your area and how you can time a visit.

Take A Drive On The Backroads
Texas is full of country roads and backroads. They’re always much prettier than a main road or highway; therefore, Brandon and I embrace taking the long route if it means we’ll get to see wildflowers or a more beautiful scenery. We also tend to find more to explore like small stores, country kitchens, pie shops, and fun things that we might’ve otherwise missed on a main route. If you’re looking for an adventure, this is a great date!
