This is the time of year that I start longing for springtime. Warmer weather, meals outside, and of course, spring clothing can’t come soon enough for me! In reality, most places still have at least another month or two of cold weather, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t begin to embrace spring. Here are my tips for feeling “springy” in the winter and what you can do to bring a little springtime joy into your life.

Wear Spring Colors
Even if it’s cold, embrace the pastel rainbow and wear your spring colors for an instant mood boost. This striped sweater makes me so happy! I’ve been seeing a lot of lighter sweaters this season and I think it’s the perfect way to start feeling like winter will soon be over. We’re lucky to have warmer winters here in San Antonio and I cherish the days when I’m able to pull out an item from my spring wardrobe and pair it with a sweater or just go without my coat.

Add Spring Around The Home
Who will ever know that it’s winter outside if your home has touches of spring everywhere? When March hits, I take away the heavy throws and opt for lighter colors and our spring pillows for the couch. I also love adding greenery or fresh flowers around the house and a candle that makes me think of spring (try this one, it’s fabulous). It’s a mental game! Transform your home into a spring oasis for a happier mindset.

Make A Springy Meal
We love to cook at home and often build our menu around the season. This past fall, we ate tons of sweet potato, squash, and hearty soups. For spring, I love fresh and zingy recipes like this lemon balsamic pasta salad or parmesan crusted baked cod. Sometimes we’re lucky and we’ll get a random seventy degree day in the winter; without a doubt, you can find us dining al fresco or just spending time outside while we can. I think that a spring meal can brighten up any winter day.
