I’m really excited about today’s post! A few weeks ago, I reached out via Instagram and asked for your best podcast recommendations to listen to as a couple. I definitely have my own share that I enjoy (like the Influencer podcast) and Brandon has his; but we wanted something that we could both find enjoyable during long car rides or for long walks in the evening. That being said, here’s our top 12 podcasts to listen to as a couple. With everything from relationship content, murder mysteries, and overall lifestyle motivation, you’re sure to find something here that will peak your interest!
Podcasts To Listen To As A Couple
Power Couples: This podcasts comes from our friends Brooke and Wilhelm. We’ve been following their amazing journey and motivational content for quite some time (Brooke just did an amazing body positive experiment this January). Their podcast focuses on amazing stories from “power couples” and what works for them in life.
How I Built This: This one may be my personal favorite on the list. The podcast shares stories from successful entrepreneurs from tons of companies like Door Dash, Kate Spade, Steve Madden, SoulCycle, and more. I love that every episode is so different and you can easily find one that will speak to you and your interests. Overall, I just love hearing these success stories as motivation!
Happier: The idea for this one is simple: stories and tips to help you live a happier lifestyle. It’s practical and down to earth advice or strategies that will leave you feeling happier and more satisfied in life.
Up And Vanished: Everyone kept recommending this one to us! Brandon is a big baby when it comes to scary things and somehow, these true crime stories really freak him out. I’ll be listening to this one on my own but I can see it being riveting for any couple with an affinity for true crime and mystery!
TED Radio Hour: This one is broad in its topics, but again, it’d be really easy to find an episode that intrigues you both! The host explores human emotion, inventions, and creative new ideas or ways to think.
Planet Money: I’d say this one is Brandon’s personal favorite. I’ll be honest and say that there were a few episodes I really didn’t love, but it’d be a great podcast for anyone interested in the economy and there have been several that I truly enjoyed and surprised myself in!
The Other F Word: This podcast addresses failure in all aspects of the word. Failure in relationships, parenting, business, and more. It humanizes the concept and shows that it’s okay to fail!
Budget Couple: Perfect for any couple, this podcast talks about balancing life and how to afford everything that is thrown your way. When I learned that money is the #1 thing that couples argued about, Brandon and I made a promise to always communicate openly about our finances, goals, and everything surrounding the topic of money.
Modern Love: This podcasts reads reader-submitted essays on the subject of modern love. With everything from essays on how people met, giving up on love, second chances, and so much more, this podcast offers variety and quick stories to get you intrigued!
RISE Together: Rachel and Dave Hollis are goals. I just read Rachel’s book Girl, Wash Your Face and finished it in one day! I’m so excited to dive into their podcast where they share tons of variety: parenting, sex, getting in shape as a couple, healthy relationship habits, and so so much more. This feels like a great place to start from our list if you’re wondering which one would be the best to listen to together.
Travel Couple Podcast: This podcast interviews “travel couples”, their nomadic lifestyle, and their relationship journey together. Seems similar to the influencer podcast in some ways!
This is Love: Episodes like “How To Be Alone”, “How To Wait”, and even “How to Love” explore the multiple phases of relationships and singleness. The creators of the Criminal podcast started This is Love and just posted season two!
Couple Collective: A collection of stories from couples who have committed to making their relationship work. This podcast discusses all the elements needed (based on a couple to couple basis) to making a relationship.
The Accidental Creative: This podcast shares life hacks and productivity from some of the most creative people out there. Episodes like how to plan your day in ten minutes, how to make time, and ways to encourage creativity are only a few of the topics that the series dives into.
