Where We Are // Our Future Plans
At the end of summer, we announced that we’d bought a piece of property about an hour and a half from San Antonio. As promised, we want to give periodic updates and fill you guys in on the process. Right now, we’re in the stage of grooming and cleaning the land. It’s a raw piece of land (about 13 acres), filled with cedar and oak trees and brush. You can see from the picture above, it’s thick! Brandon has been several times and worked to cut down some trees and make paths. We essentially want to make it groomed, but still retain lots of the trees to create a magical forest atmosphere. His goal for 2019 is to have a pretty good portion of it cleared.
For the future, we’d love to eventually build a small country home. The land is so beautiful, I can only image what it would be like to wake up with huge windows and be surrounded by trees and nature. As you know by now, we’re lovers of the outdoors. That being said, I’ve camped officially one time and I don’t have a big desire to make that a normal part of life, ha! A small home would be ideal so that we could go out there on the weekends, yet still have the comforts of a bathroom, kitchen, and a great bed.
I put together a little ranch house inspiration mood board below, compiled of a few photos that are really serving as our foundation for design. It seems like we find something else to pin every week and our imaginations are running wild as we’re obviously in the “dreaming” stage right now. It’s been so fun to discuss and talk about what we want and what we hope for in this land.
