We’re Back From Our Road Trip Of The South!

Hey everyone, it’s been a long time! We’re back from our week long road trip across the southern part of the US and so excited to start sharing memories of the trip. We had such a blast but like always, Brandon and I are the kind of travelers who are eager to return home at the end of a long vacation. Yesterday we booked it from New Orleans to San Antonio in under 8 hours, which ended up being our longest travel day from the whole week. We’ve got quite a few posts with road trip content coming your way, also sprinkling in holiday content and a few fun projects that have been in the works.

K: Brandon and I have fallen in love with fair isle sweaters. The definition of the iconic print is a geometric pattern, usually just at the top half of the sweater like you’ll see in ours above. To me, it conjures up a traditional, preppy style and I especially love it around the holidays in cheerful bursts of red and white. I also love that the print works for both guys and girls and depending on your size and the color pattern, some sweaters could even be interchangeable between genders.

B: I was first introduced to fair isle through a documentary about a Scottish woman who used an actual loom to create the graphic prints through the age-old technique and practices of dying the yarn. The process was so time consuming and intricate, and I found myself holding a huge respect for this traditional Scottish tradition. Of course our sweaters aren’t what you’d call authentic, but the print is so popular now that it’s easy to get a great fair isle sweater at a very reasonable price.
