A Fall Picnic With Kneaders
This past weekend, temperatures got up to 80 degrees and we had sunshine for the first time in weeks. Brandon and I were thrilled to pack up a picnic, take Tara, and head to our favorite park in town. For our food, we were lucky enough to work with one of our favorite lunch spots, Kneaders. The quaint little Bakery Cafe chain is just five minutes from our home and we love their menu of hot sandwiches, delicious soups, and the most amazing breads and baked items. Today, we wanted to share a little more about this restaurant, especially as we approach Thanksgiving. Brandon and I have decided that they are the perfect choice if you need Thanksgiving catering for a Friendsgiving, or if you just need to pick up a pie before the big day.

Kneaders Food & Pantry Items
K: One thing we love about Kneaders is that not only do they have a fantastic menu, but they also have a plethora of pantry items that you can just pick up and take home. This amazing peach raspberry jam was so delicious and we also picked up a mini loaf of cranberry orange sweet bread. Their selection of made daily, European, traditional breads is phenomenal. I love how easy this is for a last-minute gift or housewarming present. If you’re like us, you’re probably going to family’s house for Thanksgiving day. I hate showing up empty handed and Kneaders offers so many great gift items that are ready to go.
Additionally, you can create your own gift basket right in the store. Pick and choose what pantry items you want to include (caramel sauce, bread, home decor items, decorative dish towels, etc). Kneaders will help you arrange everything and they also have a huge selection of baskets and ribbon so that you can customize the gift.
The Menu
B: I personally love the variety that Kneaders offers. Although their Rueben sandwich is my favorite, there are so many other great items on the menu. We tried the Cranberry Turkey salad with raspberry dressing and Katherine ate the Provolone Muenster Melt sandwich. It’s one of those foolproof restaurants where everyone has plenty of choices and can easily find something to their liking. We also couldn’t get over how good the rosemary focaccia bread was just by itself. Kneaders is the perfect spot to go pick up a fresh loaf of bread if you need it for Thanksgiving or just a nice dinner at home. Check out their full menu here and you’ll quickly see why we love this little spot.
Pastry Items For Your Sweet Tooth
K: Oh my word this pumpkin pie was to die for! We got to meet the pastry chef while we picked up our items and you don’t even want to know what time she reports into work for the morning (hint: I wouldn’t even consider it morning!). Everything is homemade and utterly delicious. I cannot recommend the pumpkin pie enough and if we were staying in town, I’d definitely pick one up for Thanksgiving day, no questions. Check to see if you have a Kneaders close by and if you do, take our word for it: everything is exceptional! San Antonio friends, our Kneaders location is at Stone Oak Parkway and Hardy Oak Boulevard. If you haven’t tried it yet, we highly recommend!
