Best Halloween Costumes For Couples 2018
Jim & Pam from “The Office”
This was our choice for 2018! We binge watched the entire series of “The Office” last year and fell in love with both Jim and Pam. It was a no brainer when thinking how to recreate these characters: we simply copied their own respective Halloween costumes from one of the earlier episodes where Jim was a three hole punch and Pam was a cat. An all black outfit for me (plus cat $5.99 cat ears) and a simple white shirt with paper circles taped on completed the look for Brandon.
Party Animals
Dress up in your best “going out” outfits and then throw on an animal mask like this one to become the very punny “Party Animal” couple costume. Accessories like a champagne flute or even a party hat would be cute finishing touches.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Oh how I wish we could recreate this one. Unfortunately, neither of us look even remotely similar to Harry and Meghan. I thought it might be a difficult one for people to guess if we just wore crowns and formalwear. You could do a lot with this one but our favorite source of inspiration for Harry and Meghan comes from this source.
Mr. and Mrs. Incredible
I’ve always wanted to do this one as well! A red bodysuit plus black tights/shorts would be easy to find. Throw in some black gloves and masks and you’ve got yourself a classic couple costume! We also found them available for purchase here.
Chip & Joanna Gains
How easy and amazing would this one be? A tool belt and flannel shirt for your guy. A cute tee and baseball cap for you! Chip and Joanna are so recognizable now and loved by America. I think this costume would be such an easy option!
Mary Poppins and Burt the Chimney Sweeper
Oddly enough, this one seems to be very popular if you’re looking to purchase costumes! We found tons of options on amazon here. With a little more effort, you could also create something similar with items from your closet or by thrifting them.
Don and Betty Draper
If Mad Men is your show, this costume is perfect! This also gives girls an excuse to find that perfect vintage 60s dress like this one or this one. For Don, just have your guy wear a snappy suit and you’ll easily be the stars of the night!
JFK and Jackie O
Order a pillbox hat and wear a coordinating colored suit and you’ll immediately feel like Jackie O. Aviator sunglasses and a suit for your guy, and this costume is sure to be remembered. Once again, I love the idea that this one pulls in vintage vibes!
Emojis
Take a look at the emojis on your phone and see if you can create a homemade costume from them! I know I’ve got a flowy red dress in my closet that makes me feel like the flamenco dancer girl. I think you could easily find inspiration from all of the emojis and come up with two cute costumes for him + her.
Beekeeper and Bumble Bee
Did you know you can get a whole beekeeper suit from Walmart for $15?? To coordinate, wear yellow and black or stripes of some sort for a coordinating costume of beekeeper and bumble bee.
Couple on Safari
It’d be so easy to throw on khaki, binoculars, and hiking boots to emulate a couple on safari. Think outside the box and maybe have one person come as an animal like a cheetah or leopard.
Salt and Pepper
There are a number of things you could do for this one! Homemade costumes would entail all white and black/grey for the other person. Or, you could always purchase costumes like these instead.
June Carter and Johnny Cash
Reese Witherspoon does an amazing job portraying June Carter and honestly, many dresses from her own Draper James clothing line would work well if you want to dress like June. I think the element that will tie this costume together is a guitar so make sure you’ve got one for your guy to carry around! See inspiration here on what you could accomplish!
Jay Gatsby and Daisy
One of my all time favorites! I think I love this one because of the fact that I’m an English teacher and adore the novel. Go full on roaring 20s themed with a dress like this one or a store bought costume like this one.
Tarzan & Jane
Jane is famous for her yellow dress and I think this could be something you find on your own. I found it available for purchase here but definitely think that with a little creativity, you could find something similar on your own (like this skirt and this top paired together). For the Tarzan costume, they’re available pretty cheap at many of the Halloween costume stores (this one was $29.99).
