Color On The Mountains

Color On The Mountains

As Texans, it isn’t often that we’re able to wear heavy sweaters and scarves before November. That’s why Brandon and I packed all of our favorite fall items up to Colorado, knowing we’d receive temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Neither of us shy away from color in our wardrobe and even in the winter, we both love adding a pop of red or a bright splash of color. Since we were in Colorado during the summer months, it seemed that the mountain scenery couldn’t agree more with us. Everywhere we turned, bright colors were blooming on flowers and everything seemed a vivid green. We embraced it all during our trip and this was one of our favorite shoots to date!

K: How gorgeous is this colorful scarf from Asos? I can always count on them for affordable accessories. This scarf was only $20!! I’m so sad that it just went out of stock, but luckily, Asos has quite the supply of colorful scarves for fall. Here are a few of my favorites for the season:

How To Wear Color For Fall

B: For some reason, many guys shy away from wearing bright colors. I’ve never been one to say no to a bright pair of pants, or a patterned shirt that incorporates many variances of the rainbow. I’m confident in what I wear and love incorporating my favorite shades into my wardrobe. One simple rule applies for guys: Stick with your main color(s) and incorporate some sort of neutral. In my case, I went for a bright red-orange pair of pants and kept things simple with a neutral grey sweater. I think that’s they key for wearing color as a man.

K: Similar to Brandon’s rule, I love to stick with my color “palette” and have a white, cream, or neutral that will allow those colors to pop. I do think that girls can get away with wearing more variety and colors than guys can. Our neutrals may even be broader than a guy’s; for me, blush pink and light blue are almost neutrals! I’m not afraid to pair another color with those for a bolder look.

On Katherine: Asos sweater, Asos scarf, Caslon jeans, Steve Madden slides (similar), Anthropologie belt

On Brandon: Similar grey sweater, similar red pants
