Exploring Beaver Creek, CO

Last week, Brandon and I said goodbye to the summer with our final vacation of the season. It was actually a trip with my family and we were able to stay at a friend’s house in Edwards, Colorado, just a quick drive from Beaver Creek Resort. Picturesque mountains, chillier temperatures, and tons of time outside welcomed us into the state and we had the best time!

We were so astounded by all of the GORGEOUS flowers everywhere! This was our first trip to Colorado in the summertime and we kept oohing and aweing over all of the blooms. The grounds were perfectly manicured everywhere. I think one of my favorite parts of any trip is experiencing all of the natural beauty that a state or city has to offer! Beaver Creek Resort is almost like its own little town. Shopping, restaurants, ice skating, hiking, and so many more activities surround the resort and you have to drive up the mountain just to get there. Brandon and I spent one afternoon wandering around the main part of town, soaking it all up.

Dressing For The Weather

We had a glorious week of almost fallish weather. The afternoons warmed up to about 80 degrees but the mornings were in the 50s. If you’re in the south, this is probably what your fall will look like. That being said, Brandon and I both opted for layers most days, allowing ourselves to shed the sweaters once the mid-afternoon hit. This balloon sleeve magenta sweater has a slightly cropped fit and I paired it with my favorite high waisted pants for more of a summertime look. I can’t wait to add a fun scarf and jeans for fall to change it up! I’ve linked a few of my other favorite lightweight sweaters that can take you from “pre-fall” into cooler temperatures and layers.

B: I’m sure I’ll still be in a pair of shorts until October, but I’ll always opt for a long sleeve button down whenever possible. The one that I’m wearing is older, but I enjoy donning a shirt that has some sort of detail, whether it’s on the pocket, sleeves, shoulders, or in this case, all three.
