Our At-Home Date With Togethr Box
We’re so excited to share with you a way to make at-home date nights easier. I found Togethr Box on Instagram and immediately fell in love with their idea of “experience boxes”. Essentially, they provide a mailed subscription that delivers an experience geared to get you talking and enjoying an activity with someone in your life. It’s not just meant for couples though; Brandon and I were talking about how these boxes would be so fun for a mother/daughter afternoon or just a good time with your best friend. The boxes are equipped with the activity itself, two beverages (cream soda for ours), a snack, and conversation starters that ask thought provoking questions for the two of you to answer.
We took some time to unbox everything on Instagram and give you a closer look at what’s inside. We hope you enjoy this easy at home date with Togethr box as much as we did!!
B: One of the detailed touches that Katherine and I enjoyed was the “phone home” for you to put your devices away and focus on the time and the person in front of you. Our generation is definitely plagued with phone addiction, and we are guilty of having phones out during dinner or scrolling through Instagram before bed instead of talking. This forces you to put everything away and just enjoy the moments.
The Conversation Starters
K: We absolutely loved the inclusion of “conversation starters”, or questions that made us think deeply and reflect. Because our box theme was art and painting, all of the questions geared towards that in some way. We’ve actually included our favorite questions from the box below, plus our answers!
If you were three colors, which ones would you be and why?
B: Khaki, olive moss green, and vermillion. Khaki represents everything about the outdoors to me. When I think of the color, I think of Hemingway on safari and that perfectly aligns with my appreciation of nature. Olive moss green is an age-old color that makes me think back to Biblical times. I like to think of myself as an old soul and a man who appreciates the classics. This color represents that notion. Vermillion is a beautiful orange, making me think of sunsets and sunrises. Katherine and I love watching sunsets in every new location that we visit and I feel like this color represents my love for travel.
K: Sage green, Powder blue, and peach. I loved this question because as an English teacher, we’re constantly talking about color symbolism in the books we’re reading! I would be green because of my need for growth (constantly challenging myself in the personal growth category) and because of the “freshness” that the color evokes. I would be powder blue because it is classic and timeless to all, and peach because it has a kind, sweet quality and I’ve often been described with these characteristics.
How do you define creative?
B: Doing the unexpected. Whether it’s unexpected for society or unexpected for yourself.
K: Thinking outside of the norm, but also, making sure that your product or creation brings joy to you and makes you feel unique. Going against trends and what the average person is doing makes me feel like my creative juices are flowing properly.
What inspires you?
B: I find that most of my inspiration comes from simplicity and the outdoors. I grew up spending time on my grandfather’s peach farm, and since then, I can find sources of inspiration in every part of nature. Additionally, I love looking through old magazine advertisements and have even found inspiration in a vintage Oscar de la Renta lookbook.
K: So many things!! Blogs are a huge source of inspiration for me; additionally, flowers, paint choices at Home Depot, magazines, and most of all, travel.
