Staying Cool With A Maxi Dress
We’re officially in the hottest part of summer and San Antonio has multiple 100 degree days this week. I’ve been a long time fan of maxi dresses and love how easy they are to throw on and how they allow for a breeze, even on the hottest of days. I recently found this Pinkblush maxi dress and loved the lightweight cotton fabric, deep blue color, and lace up tie detail at the bust. A perfect summer date dress. In fact, I wore it this past Sunday when we braved the heat for National Ice Cream Day.
B: Tara was so excited to join us on our date for National Ice Cream Day. We live right around the corner from a Marble Slab Creamery and couldn’t resist stopping in for a cone this Sunday. Katherine and I both love their amaretto flavor with white chocolate chips. It’s a winning combination and even Tara would agree after her taste test.

Details On The Dress
Pinkblush has such a great variety of fun summertime pieces at a very reasonable price. I was unfamiliar with this brand up until a few weeks ago but love what they offer. For all of you mamas out there, they have an awesome line of maternity clothing as well! Although this dress isn’t from the maternity section, I feel confident that the elastic waistband would stretch with any growing belly and I certainly appreciated that after a massive scoop of ice cream! The tie up feature above the bust gave a little bit of unexpected sexiness in my opinion (perfect for a date). There are so many great midi and maxi dresses on the site at the moment, probably because everyone else must think the same thing that I do: dresses really are the best choice to beat the heat in the summer.
Simple Ways To Beat The Heat
- Opt for a breezy dress instead of pants or jeans
- Throw your hair up, if needed
- Go for slides to keep your feet cool
- Pick up a cold iced tea or frozen treat mid-afternoon
- Do your activity/exercise early in the morning or at dusk
