Our Next Trip: Martha’s Vineyard, MA
We can hardly contain our excitement for our upcoming trip to Martha’s Vineyard! Brandon and I have never been to New England before and we definitely plan on embracing the culture and fashion: think lots of stripes, preppy dresses, and anything nautical. I’m on my LAST day of school for teachers today and by 12:00, I should be out of the building for summer!
That being said, I’ve had to keep us organized with packing and actually started last week. On the top of my personal list are lots of breezy dresses, but also a few sweaters or pashminas to cover up in the evenings. Our weather is supposed to be in the 60s and 70s, but as South Texans, that can ironically be chilly for us. I put together a few little pieces of inspiration for our trip below. To me, the nautical vibe and preppy clothing can work for any summer event. It’s so appropriate to break out a sailboat print shirt or an anchor bracelet anytime you’re coastal.
The other thing I wanted to touch on today is a summertime “refresh” for your wardrobe. Just last week, I was feeling like I didn’t have any fun, easy, travel dresses for our trip. Instead of spending hundreds on just a few new dresses, I opted for a quick trip to Marshalls and came out with seven new pieces for under $250. I’ve shopped at Marshalls at TJ Maxx my entire life and I love how easy it is to find budget friendly items that work for the season. I found pieces from Vineyard Vines, Lilly Pulitzer, and just some great beach dresses that will work for coverups and casual dinners. I actually posted a little try on session here with a few tips on shopping at Marshalls. Just click on the “shopping” icon with the coat hanger to see all my finds. This isn’t sponsored at all, I just really love the store!!
Finally, I put in a few products that we can’t travel without, including our travel steamer, Tide to Go, and other items that always seem to get their use on a trip. You can just scroll through these items in the widget below. Be sure to leave a comment if there’s something that you always make sure to pack when traveling!
