Davis Ranch Retreat
Wednesday’s post gave you a close look at the amazing treehouse that we stayed at this past weekend. The treehouse was just one of the options on Davis Ranch Retreat and today, we wanted to make sure we share more about this fantastic property with you. First, you need to know that Monica Davis is the owner of the ranch and probably one of the nicest people that Brandon and I have ever met. Seriously. The ranch really functions like a B&B and Monica’s main house can sleep up to ten people with separate bedrooms for couples. The treehouse is the only spot that can only sleep two. That being said, if the treehouse isn’t in your budget or you’re looking for something else, know that you can reserve a private bedroom in the main house. Additionally, there’s a great little campsite that’s new on property and if guests really want to “rough it”, they can set up their own tent and camp. Monica’s had large groups come for a real retreat and they’ve utilized this great feature.
The Land
Brandon and I have a dream of one day owning our very own piece of property. We want a ranch that will allow us to have animals so Monica’s property was an absolute treat for us to see and explore. We rode around on the golf cart, driving through ranch paths, searching for the Longhorns (and the newborn baby), and we even found some wild tracks of coyote one morning! At this time of year, her property was lush and green and the most beautiful thing to look at. She advised us that for future guests, spring and fall are undoubtedly the best times to visit.
She also has a pool (it was a little too chilly for us to jump in) and a great porch with rocking chairs. We loved the true southern feel of it all and embraced the ranch lifestyle for a weekend. Everything seemed slower and we cherished the time. Her outdoor showers (perfect for any guest choosing to camp), hen house, garden, and pastures were perfect for exploring and taking pictures.
Our Ranch Video
Brandon and I spent a little bit of time compiling this short video to really showcase our time. It’s hard to sum everything up in pictures and I think because it was so much of an “experience”, a video really helps to highlight our time.
