K: If you followed along on Instagram this past weekend, then you know Brandon and I were able to spend a few days down in Port Aransas, Texas. We celebrated my birthday and my dad’s birthday and it was so nice to get some beach time and sunshine. Saturday started out with some wild winds and chillier temperatures, but by the late afternoon, it had already burned off, leaving the rest of the evening and Sunday with perfect weather and sunny skies. We took advantage through leisurely beach walks and play time with Tara.
B: Katherine and I love the quaint vibe of Port Aransas; in fact, this wasn’t our first time there (see this old blog post here). It’s a tiny beach town but has so much to offer in unique restaurants and charming colored houses. Hurricane Harvey hit Port A pretty hard in August and we were proud to see that the small town has done a lot of rebuilding. Katherine and I were happy to support the town and hope that many others will make a trip down sometime this season to encourage the local economy.
K: I quickly fell in love with this gingham swimsuit for its ability to double as a top. Tucked into high waisted shorts (this pair from Madewell fit like a glove) makes for the easiest outfit during spring/summer weather. I’m all about a simple wardrobe during the summer and minimal layers are key for Texas heat. We’re already reaching the mid-eighties this spring, and although I have no complaints, I know that outfits like this one will be on repeat until September.
Gingham on gingham made for a fun look against all of the colored houses in the neighborhood and Brandon’s polka dots matched a few of the houses perfectly. By now, you guys have to know that we love dressing for our location! Port A is all about the casual vibes and as we were driving around on the golf cart, we felt like we really fit in.
