Our Stay At Hotel Santa Fe
K: We returned from Santa Fe, New Mexico last Friday and had such a great trip! Brandon and I are excited to start sharing content and wanted to begin with Hotel Santa Fe because we were SO impressed with this resort style hotel. Honestly, I didn’t really know what to anticipate because a friend told me to expect everything to be adobe. While the majority of structures fit this style, it was so unique and different to experience a city primarily made up of adobe buildings and we completely embraced the Santa Fe culture while we were there, complete with blue corn tortillas and “Christmas” salsa at most meals.
We broke down the hotel into several categories: the amenities, the room, and the location. Be on the lookout for our Santa Fe travel guide, coming to the blog next week. In between now and then, we’ll be sure to give you a closer look at some of the fun spots around town. For now, all of these were just taken at Hotel Santa Fe; as you can see, it’s a gorgeous property!
The Amenities
Complimentary Happy Hour
Brandon and I were shocked to discover all of the amenities that Hotel Santa Fe offers. I think one of our favorites was the complimentary happy hour for hacienda guests, complete with wine, beer, and a gorgeous cheese spread. We’re all about free snacks and often used this as our appetizer to tide us over before dinner reservations. Coupled with the fact that their happy hour room is so cozy with a wood bringing fire (and the patio pictured below), we were in complete heaven!
Hot Tea
If you don’t already know this, Brandon and I are tea obsessed. For all my coffee lovers out there, yes they did have coffee in the morning, but we were more enthralled with the selection of Native American and Tazo teas. To-go cups were available for you to grab and go on your way out for a day of exploration. The temperature was quite chilly in the early morning so we loved having a hot beverage to warm us up.
The Shuttle Service
I’m going to talk more about this under the location category but this was easily our favorite part of the hotel! They offer a free shuttle service to take you around Santa Fe, which runs from the morning until 10PM. This was so nice and we loved not having to worry about parking anywhere.
The Room
We had a hacienda suite (you can see our room tour on the “New Mexico” tab of our Instagram Highlights), and enjoyed all of the space that it had to offer. Both Brandon and I packed so much for this trip and it was nice to have a large area to lay things out and hang up our nicer clothes. I have to brag on the bathroom for just a little bit because it was one of the BEST showers I’ve ever been in. We also enjoyed the small balcony area and the fireplace in our sitting room. Both made for a perfect New Mexico ambiance and a romantic room for the two of us.
The Location
While the location of the hotel wasn’t right downtown, the shuttle service made it incredibly easy to get everywhere. We simply called the front desk and told them when we’d be ready, and the shuttle would be waiting outside to take us wherever we wanted to go. It was only a five minute ride to the main plaza downtown, which is where the majority of activities, shops, and restaurants are located.
Overall, incredible service and an incredible experience! You can read more about the hotel’s story here if you’re interested. We would highly recommend this as the number one spot to stay in Santa Fe. Let us know if you plan to go!
