Let me start by saying that I don’t think I have good hair. My natural hair is extremely dark (like my brows), and I’ve regularly gotten highlights since college. My hair is stick straight, flat, and doesn’t hold a curl. In the age of the flat iron, I got by because my hair looks like it’s been straightened if I just let it air dry. Fast-forward to today’s time, and curls/waves are all the rage. I’ve always had trouble getting that textured wave but have always wanted to master it, especially as a blogger!
Cuvee Beauty has helped provide an answer for me. I reached out to them in November and they quickly sent over four of the brand’s main products: the shampoo, conditioner, styling balm, and champagne spray. I’ve been using these products exclusively since December 5 and wanted to give a full review today.
Cuvee Shampoo & Conditioner:
I really like these products and feel like they do their job completely. Early on, I was using a little too much conditioner and found that my hair was getting oily. However, I quickly downsized the amount and it completely fixed the problem. A little goes a long way here, making it a great buy for your budget since you won’t have to restock that often. I’ve had the product one month and haven’t made a dent in it.
Styling Balm:
This is such a great product! I love anything that you can put on your hair wet or dry. I’ve used it right after a shower, towel drying my hair, then applying a dime sized amount to my hair. I’ve also used it when my hair is dry and I’m about to curl it. Both ways have worked well and I feel like it offers more shape and texture.
Champagne Spray:
Cuvee advertises this as the product to use for messy waves and “lived in” hair. It definitely does that! Again, this helps my style achieve a messier look and as an added bonus, it smells amazing.
The Verdict:
I think Cuvee has a great line of hair products. They all smell heavenly and worked great with my straight hair in building style. If you’re trying to decide what to buy, I’d definitely recommend the styling balm as my favorite product that I tried, simply because it has multiple purposes and can work on wet or dry hair, making it very versatile. One thing I’m still missing is a product that helps hold curl. I’ve tried so many different things out there, yet I still can’t seem to make my curls last all day. Any suggestions?
If you’d like to know how I curl/style my hair, please let me know! I’m definitely not a beauty blogger but if there’s enough interest, I’m happy to make a little video or tutorial of some sort!
