K: I had full intentions to just share this sweater today and write about how soft, oversized, and cozy it is for a winter day. But the writer in me wanted more. I’m constantly looking for new subjects to write on, new ideas to bring to the blog, and new ways to inspire you all in your relationship. So I thought it was fitting to do more than just write about this pink knit sweater; instead, I want to give you a little bit more than that for your Wednesday morning.
Small Ways To Surprise Your Significant Other
Clearly our focus here is building a relationship, nurturing your marriage, and emphasizing time spent together. With Valentine’s Day approaching, we’ve got a lot of great content lined up in the hopes that we’ll be your inspiration on gifts, date ideas, and outfits for the big day. Today we’re starting small in the build up to Valentine’s Day. Sometimes it’s just about the little things in life that you can do for your guy or girl.
Cook their favorite meal.
This one may take a little preparation, but it is well worth it! Who doesn’t love having their favorite meal after a long day of work? Cook this up as a little surprise and make it feel special by lighting candles, setting the table, and picking up a bottle of your favorite wine. If you don’t cook, grab their favorite meal to go and serve it up at home!
Have music on when they get home.
Brandon actually did this for me and I absolutely adored it. He had the song from our wedding video playing and we just danced together! This won’t cost you a dime and it creates a special moment on an otherwise regular weekday night.
Frame a favorite picture for them.
Find a picture from the last few months and frame it. Even pulling something from your Instagram is great! We love updating our pictures, rather than just keeping the same ones framed. Update one of your older pictures and swap it for the new one. It’s a fun little surprise when they finally notice!
Fill their car with gas.
My Papa does this for my Nana and I think it’s such a sweet gesture. Of course, we’re all more than capable of filling up our own car with gas, but it’s a nice surprise for someone to hop in their car and realize that they have a full tank. This is particularly nice if it’s freezing outside and your spouse doesn’t have to get gas in the cold.
Tidy up the house.
Everyone loves coming home to a clean house. Brandon and I have each surprised the other with this on several occasions and it’s always so nice and thoughtful. Not only does it show that you care, but it frees up time so that the two of you can move on with your evening and not have to worry about the house.
What about you? What are your go-to ways to surprise your significant other? We’d love to hear them in the comment section below!
