K: I stumbled upon this Topshop turtleneck online and instantly added it to my cart for a whopping $25. It comes in several other colors, is tissue paper thin (making it perfect for layering), and I knew that I wanted to present this one turtleneck, styled three ways, to showcase its versatility. You’ll also notice that I’m featuring three different pairs of earrings with each outfit. Erica from Tayla Made Designs reached out to me and I quickly fell in love with her leather earrings. Each pair is hand cut, lightweight, and nickel free. I’ve already gotten so much wear out of these three pairs and I especially love how they feel weightless on my ears: exactly what I need for a long day of teaching. Be sure and scroll all the way to the end of this post for a giveaway and a chance to win any pair of her earrings for free!
Turtleneck + Colored Pants
Colored pants had a big moment several years back but don’t seem to be making a huge appearance these days. I’ve had these army green cargo pants for years and wear them ALL the time, especially for teaching. They feel like a comfortable jean, hug in all the right places, and hit just above the ankle, making them perfect for showing off a great pair of shoes. Why not bring out a pair of your old colored pants for a comeback? I love the unexpected combo of the blush turtleneck paired with the pants and shoes. The outfit still manages to come across as feminine and allows a lot of room for you to play with accessories. This is a classic look, easy to recreate from your own closet.
Turtleneck + Dress
This is technically a vest, but because of its full wrap capability, I’ve worn it as a dress several times. I think turtlenecks layered underneath a short sleeve dress look fantastic; plus, it gives you the option to wear something sleeveless without freezing to death in the winter. If it’s extremely cold, throw on tights and boots for added warmth. I found that the blush/nude color that I chose worked well with a lot of my dresses since it looks very natural and skin toned. I’m already picturing the turtleneck underneath some of my spring dresses to help with the transition months.
Turtleneck + Cardigan and Jeans
Obviously, I had to include the most classic way to wear this turtleneck. Since it is quite thin, I paired it with this fuzzy cardigan (which, by the way, feels like soft pajamas) and skinny jeans. A bright silk scarf adds a pop of color against the nudes and makes for an easy outfit to just throw on (see our silk scarf tutorial here). I have no doubt every girl’s closet could accommodate and replicate this look.
