K: All I can say about the fall foliage in Colorado is WOW! This trip could not have been timed more perfectly for the color-changing leaves. We were so eager to hop in our rental car and drive north, exploring mountain towns along the way as we tried to capture as many pictures of the changing leaves as possible. Brandon and I kept stumbling upon hidden groves, mountain trails, babbling brooks, and secret hideaway spots that felt like our own private version of paradise. If you can’t tell, fall is my favorite season and because of our Colorado trip, I feel like we really got to experience it this year.
B: A good flannel shirt is a definiate staple for my wardrobe in the fall and winter months. On this particular fall day, I actually layered with a long sleeve t-shirt for extra warmth during our chilly hike. I am not a fan of cold weather jackets, preferring to layer up with numerous shirts to prevent me from having to pull out a puffy winter jacket. Thankfully guys are lucky in the sense that we have so many different options for for base layering and variety of manly flannel shirt patterns. This particular flannel is from J. Crew and has held up perfectly since its original purchase last January. Posted below are a few flannel favorites that are in stores this fall. Whether you are a guy shopping for a flannel to add to your collection, or a girl shopping for your significant other, you cannot go wrong with any of these options.
K: I ordered this oversized sweater from Boohoo and intended to wear it with a skirt. It was actually a little larger than expected, so I decided to use it as a more of an alternative to a sweatshirt for our hike. I’m very happy that I layered with my waterproof windbreaker and a blanket scarf on top. The further into the mountains we drove, the cooler it got! Needless to say, it was chilly but we welcomed it with open arms.
If you’re looking for a good blanket scarf, I’ve linked several below. This trend started a few years back, but I’m happy to report that it’s still going strong. You can’t go wrong with a classic plaid or a fall color. The benefit to this accessory is that it can be worn a multitude of ways and I’ve even used mine as an actual blanket or throw for the couch! It’s a perfect seasonal addition to your wardrobe and home.
B: I grew up taking photographs of wildlife and rural landscapes in the prehistoric film age, but when I first grabbed ahold of a Canon Digital SLR, I never turned back. As a result of taking so many photos over the years, I naturally am drawn to the find the most picturesque setting possible, and this river is certainly no exception. The river setting, which Katherine actually found from the highway, was truly spectacular. Katherine and I are obvious nature lovers and enjoy spending time in various settings, and experiencing what the land we are visiting or living within has to offer. Our Colorado mountain drive seeking fall foliage was well warranted because unfortunately we most likely will not be seeing much of a fall colorations in San Antonio.
