K: Happy Wednesday! If you’re reading this, Brandon and I are on a plane right now, headed to Costa Rica! We’re so excited for a little vacation and we’ll be staying in a house with his family. Be sure to follow along on our Instagram Stories!
Onto today’s look: the duster jacket. I was so excited to try this trend for fall but wasn’t sure about committing something like this or this just because of the price. I typically don’t love to invest in trends unless I’m absolutely crazy about it. This jacket was the perfect solution: under $40, and it’s in my favorite color for fall, sage green. I ordered it from a new site that reminds me a lot of SheIn. Boohoo has tons of trendy pieces for a fraction of the price and they are constantly having sales. Overall, my items came quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It’s definitely a great source if you’re looking to try a new trend this season.
K: If you’re a fellow blogger, or just into photography, I know you’ll appreciate the notion of “finding the light” when taking pictures. My sweet mother oftentimes takes pictures for us and we certainly lucked out with what’s considered to be “Golden Hour” of the day. It’s that time right before the sun sets when the light is perfection. We’re hoping to capture some awesome Costa Rica sunsets and scenery on our trip to post here on the blog a little later!
K: If you’re ready to try the duster jacket for fall, keep a few things in mind:
1. They are obviously very long. I would wear them with a dark pant so that your legs appear longer. Additionally, I think heels are a must to lengthen your frame.
2. Choose a muted or neutral color. A strong yellow or bold color may be too much for some people. I’d also suggest a color that compliments your skin tone since that color is going to be showing all over.
3. Try layering it with a silk cami underneath if you’re dealing with hotter weather; or, style it with a sweater underneath for some added warmth in the cooler months.
All of these are easy options and priced under $100:

On Katherine: Boohoo Duster Jacket, Forever 21 sweater (old, similar here), Wit and Wisdom jeans, Sole Society shoes, Michele watch, Ray Ban sunglasses, Kendra Scott earrings, Shay Collection necklace
Dusters are always so breezy and chic for fall! I LOVE the olive and blush combo!! So cute!

This duster is perfection! I am glad to read a Boohoo review. I've seen things I've thought about buying from them, but never have. Also, golden hour really is perfection. Thats when I try to take most of my pics. Have so much fun on your vaca. Can't wait to see pictures.
I love this look! I am always intimidated to wear them because I don't feel tall enough but this is just too cute to pass up!

I just love this look on you Katherine!! I also love you styled the double cross necklace 😉
Olive is really big right now too! I'm very happy about that, it's always been one of my favorite colors for clothes.
Great point about wearing darker pants to elongate your legs! I hadn't thought about that.
