K: When I think about formal wear for the fall and winter months, I seem to have a harder time finding options that I like. My ideal choice is going to be a dress with texture (velvet, lace, or even something embroidered). When I saw this fall floral dress, I immediately knew it would be the perfect choice for the wedding we have this fall and any other event that I want to look a little more dressed up at. Can’t you just picture it with black boots and tights? I love how you can easily play up the different colors: purple, red, or white. I’m confident that this is one little black dress I’ll never grow tired of because of its versatility.
B: Mens formal wear is straightforward: a great suit, or in this case, colored pants with a classic sport coat, make for an easy outfit that I would consider to work well for multiple events and functions. I have a wide variety of suits and blazers that I like to pull out whenever a possibility arises. Katherine and I seem to constantly invent new reasons or occasions to dress up. I am always happy with this decision because I have a bit of a suit obsession. On this day in particular, we were headed to Verdi’s opera rendition of Macbeth downtown.
K: Anthropologie never fails to impress me with their multitude of dresses. I’ve scoured the site for my favorites this fall and I’ve linked them here. Whether you’ve got a wedding, bridal shower, holiday event, or just a special occasion to dress up for, these are all excellent options that still scream “fall” to me.
