K: As many of you know, I’m a high school teacher and I LOVE my job. This summer has been amazing because I had time to devote to the blog and it’s been so much fun for Brandon and I to watch it grow. We feel blessed (and sometimes shocked) that so many of you come back, day after day, to our small little corner of the internet to read what we’ve written and see our adventures. Brandon and I have always talked about how we want to use this platform for the good of God’s glory and to consistently find ways to help others. We’ve been thinking long and hard about a way to give back to the community and I think that this Back to School Challenge is the perfect answer.
From August 21-September 1, we’re turning the blog into a “Back to School” hub for you, filled with everything from workwear outfits, healthy lunches, a look at my classroom, and even my personal viewpoint on teaching and education. If you aren’t a student or teacher, don’t worry! This two-week series has something for everyone.
So how are we giving back? 25 % of every single sale we make for those two weeks will be donated to a local school in need. Additionally, we challenge you to make a donation of school supplies to any school in your city. You have no idea how many children are in need of basic supplies like paper, pencils, backpacks, markers, and more. You may not live in San Antonio, but you can still run to Target and pick up a few things for your neighborhood school.
Some of you may be wondering how we even make money on this blog. I think it’s important for me to explain what I mean by “sales”. Any time you see a product on the blog, it usually has an affiliate link; so, when you click on that cute top from Nordstrom or the belt Brandon wears on repeat, it stores information and remembers what you clicked. Then, if you purchase anything from that retailer website (even if it isn’t the exact item), we may earn a small commission. So, if we earn anything in commission during August 21-September 1, we’re going to be donating 25% of that to a school in need.
Also, you can subscribe to our email list with this form below, that way you’ll receive updates about the challenge, information on the posts, and reminders about ways to shop. Leave a comment if you have any questions!
