K: When Adore Me approached us about compiling an ideal “summer date” post, we were thrilled to put our spin on it. Living in Texas means hot summers with temperatures over 100 degrees as our daily norm. Brandon and I discovered that during the summer, we have to have water around us if we’re outside, for both Tara and ourselves. It’s very difficult for us to do any activity without someplace to cool off in. Luckily, we live very close to my parents and their beautiful pool. We expect to be mooching off it pretty consistently this summer with a margarita in hand. Creating a pool day for you and your guy is probably one of the easiest date ideas you can have. Grab a great swimsuit, some sunscreen, and your cutest cover-up for an afternoon of sun. We opted for frozen margaritas as our drink of choice but lemonade or popsicles are just as refreshing. What are your pool day necessities?
B: Tara is as happy in the water as she is on land. She always swims with such grace and prowess as she retrieves her thrown tennis balls. In the past, Katherine and I have ventured to sourrounding lakes and rivers to cool down as the summer heat rises with Tara by our side. As a puppy, she was nervous around water, simply watching her fallen tennis balls float away. After weeks of pervasive coaxing, my father was able to build her swimming confidence in his backyard plunge pool. Nowadays, she proudly clings close to her title as a full blooded water dog.
K: Adore Me is a phenomenal company that makes more than just lingerie. They have well made swimsuits in every style you can imagine for every body type. I had such a hard time choosing which suit to showcase for this post, but I settled on something that was bright, figure flattering, and versatile. I can see this suit getting good use when we go to the river later this summer, or even on our next beach trip. It’s extremely secure and I love wearing this type of suit when snorkeling or paddle boarding on the water. The bright colors drew me in but it was the fit of the swimsuit that sold me on the brand.
B: From a guy’s perspective, there is no negative aspect of a water based date activity. Most notably, the stigmas of flowing drinks, flotation devices, short swimsuits, and endless fun are equated in the definition of water activities. When the weather is hot, there is no better way to combat the torrential heat than cool water; however in the case of the above picture, I was a bit shocked, not expecting such frigidly cold water. Great amounts of fun can be derived from pools, waterparks, rivers, ponds, lakes, and oceans. This summer, we are excited to share upcoming date idea posts from our favorite water holes to help you look great and have fun while beating the summer heat.
*This post idea is in collaboration with Adore Me; however, all swimsuits were purchased on our own. This is not a sponsored post.*
